REMEMBRANCE
DAY
Each year on November 11, we come together to honour those who served our country in times of war, conflict, and peace. At 11 a.m., we pause for two minutes of silence to reflect on their courage, their sacrifices, and the freedom we have because of them.
The red poppy, inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields, reminds us of the lives lost and the hope that followed. It stands as a symbol of remembrance and gratitude for all who fought to protect others.
On November 8, we also recognize Indigenous Veterans Day. This day pays tribute to the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis soldiers who served with bravery and strength. For many years, their contributions were not fully acknowledged. Today, we make sure their courage and service are remembered and respected.
Let us remember that these days are not only about the past, but also about the values we carry forward: courage, peace, and unity. Let us honour every veteran, every story, and every sacrifice with respect and gratitude.
Lest we forget
